City Flag

The City's flag was adopted on March 24, 2026 by the Mayor and Council. Designed by local artist Scott McLean, "Heritage with a View" was the winner of a public voting process.
When submitting the design, Mr. McLean expressed "Our preserved and restored control tower gives a nod to our railroad heritage, while being uniquely Brunswick. It overlooks the beautiful Potomac River, C&O Canal, and towpath. In the distance, the sun sets over the valley that gave us our original Merry Peep O' Day name. A Paw-Paw branch reminds us of the sweet scents that fill the towpath in late summer. Seven stars encircle the image representing Maryland being the seventh state, and finally a faint outline of the Potomac River in the background helps place us on the map. The imagery is unmistakably Brunswick, and colorful enough to brighten every porch and flagpole it is flown."
