Stormwater Management & Flood Plan
NEXT EVENT!! Community Meeting #2
Wednesday Nov, 19 at 6 pm (City Park Building, 655 E. Potomac Street)
During this second (and final) Community Workshop, we will be reviewing and validating study findings including flooding areas of concern that the community has identified thus far. From there, we will break into working groups to select possible stormwater and flooding solutions for each area of concern.
No worries if you were unable to attend the first session—we will get you caught up and rolled in to the discussion! Join us on Nov 19 to help create our plan!
About the Plan
The City of Brunswick, in collaboration with Dewberry Engineers, is developing a Comprehensive Stormwater Management and Flood Plan for Brunswick's Historic District and nearby areas. Please take a few minutes to complete the Community Survey (QR Code and links to the right) and tell our team about your experience with stormwater and flooding in Brunswick. The survey’s mapping feature will let you select more than one location if you have info to share!
The study area focuses on older and historic areas of the city that were developed prior to current stormwater design techniques. The idea is that newer developments conduct an intensive stormwater management study as part of the development process, whereas, older parts of the community did not have this opportunity. Some places in the city do not have any stormwater infrastructure. This is our attempt to mitigate!
Study Area

Outcomes of the study will incorporate community feedback with rainfall modeling and existing data into a plan. Stakeholder input will help strategize through identifying issues and prioritizing projects or recommendations. The final plan will be complete in December 2025.
