ATTENTION - ROAD WORK ANNOUNCEMENT FROM SHA
The State Highway Administration will make roadway improvements to three roadways in the Brunswick area starting Tuesday, October 1. The three locations are:
- MD 478 (Knoxville Rd) from MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) to the Brunswick city limits
- MD 17 between MD 464 and Center St
- MD 464 (Souder Rd/Point of Rocks Rd) between MD 17 (Burkittsville Rd) and Frazer Rd
To minimize disruption to local residents, the schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The project requires a single-lane closure during work hours. A flagging operation will maintain two-way travel on the road. Priority will be given to emergency vehicles and school buses.
The contractor will first make repairs to cracks and depressions on all three roadways. Crews will then mill and pave the roads in the following order: MD 478, MD 17 and MD 464.
The project’s start date is weather permitting and may be pushed to later in the week. Completion is expected in November.
Cross-Connection and Backflow Prevention Program
Did you know the City of Brunswick has a Cross-Connection and Backflow Prevention Program in place? Are you asking yourself “What is a Cross-Connection and Backflow Prevention Program?”
This program is in place to help safeguard the City’s water system, preventing the backflow of contaminants or pollutants into our potable water system. The City will begin reaching out to properties where cross-connection is possible, so we can survey and inspect the property to be sure it complies with regulations.
