Phase II continues the City of Brunswick’s work to modernize aging sewer infrastructure along East G Street from the 200 block to the dead end, starting at 2nd Avenue. These upgrades will improve service reliability, reduce the risk of failures, and protect public health and the environment—supporting the community’s long-term needs.

The City has awarded the construction contract for Phase II to Pay Dirt, LLC in the amount of $174,850.00.

What Phase II Includes

This phase focuses on targeted upgrades to strengthen the system, including:

  • Replacing aging sewer lines with modern, durable piping
  • Updating connections to homes and businesses
  • Installing three new manholes for improved maintenance access
  • Improving system flow and efficiency
  • Restoring impacted roadways and sidewalks

What to Expect During Construction

Work will temporarily affect daily activities. Residents may experience:

  • Periodic road closures or traffic shifts
  • Daytime construction activity
  • Temporary driveway access limitations (with notice)
  • Typical noise and dust

The City and contractor will work to minimize disruptions as much as possible.

Sewer service is expected to continue as normal during construction.
Residents should continue to use their plumbing as normal unless otherwise notified

Construction will proceed in sections to maintain safety and minimize disruption. Residents will receive advance notice before work begins in their area, with restoration following completion.
