Railroad Square Project Updates 10/10/23

  • Foundation has been laid, and wall construction is well underway
  • Major utility work has been undertaken and continues – Maryland Street conduits have been installed
  • The house at 5 Maple Avenue (white house next to Mommer’s building)  has been dismantled
  • Plans for preservation of 9 Maple Avenue house – the Snoots/Berlin House are moving forward and funds have been awarded to Brunswick for major rehabilitation work which is currently in the engineering/design phase
  • Vacant, fire damaged commercial buildings (8-14 West Potomac):  Demolition permit currently being prepared for submission to City and County officials in next few weeks.  Construction of new commercial buildings planned for fall 2024
  • The project developer and the City of Brunswick continue to meet regularly
